Synopsis[]
Misty tests the ponies' magic while they celebrate Nightmare Night.
Plot[]
Pipp is having a Nightmare Night fashion show at Mane Melody where her friends are dressed in costumes. However, Jazz is having trouble picking a costume. Misty sneaks into the dressing room where she bumps into Jazz and makes her present herself in random clothing articles. Misty is on a mission for Opaline where she has to get all the ponies to use their magic so Misty can learn how it works in order for Opaline to steal it. She tries to sabotage the party when she bumps into Izzy and Zipp only for Opaline's pendant to drag her away. She then pulls the plug to stop the power. The ponies' magic gets out of control with Opaline watching believing the ponies to be no match for her once she gets the dragonfire. However, the ponies regain control over their magic and restore the party with Misty joining in.

Trivia[]
- It's shown that ponies of modern Equestria still celebrate Nightmare Night, despite the fact the three pony races had been separated for a long time.
- Zipp's costume resembles the DC Comics superhero, Speedy and Sunny's costume resembles Nightmare Moon, the evil alter-ego of Princess Luna in the previous generation of MLP and the origin of the Nightmare Night.
- This is the only episode where Izzy directly agrees with Zipp in regards to Misty being suspicious.
